Join us at Andoversford Races for a great day out for all the family. There’s loads to see and do all day.
We’ve got loads to enjoy at Andoversford this Sunday
As you’ve grown to expect, there’s plenty afoot at Andoversford this year, and gates open to the public 30 minutes earlier than usual to accommodate this. So take advantage of the extra daylight as April develops, and get started early, from 1030.
Ponies, sheep racing, a parade of the Cotswold hounds, sheepdog display and lots of quality shops and independent traders make for an eclectic day’s entertainment. We’ve also a new addition this year in an exhibition of photographs from members of local camera clubs, built around our own competition for the best Cotswold scene. You’ll enjoy the range of landscapes and people shots I’m sure. There’s even a chance to test drive a new Porsche!
A little rain mid week should freshen the ground, which has the best cover on it for years, so we’re anticipating lots of competition for our valuable card, and for the Robert Hitchins Group Andoversford Grand Annual Chase.
How well trained is your dog?
A new feature for 2019 are our Dog Agility contests, taking place throughout the day. Entries for the formal classes have already closed, so expect to see some experienced dog handlers entertaining you. However, there will be a chance for us amateurs to try our hand with our own hounds, so make sure you bring yours and take part!
There’s still time to book Sunday lunch in our trackside marquee. There’s a traditional Sunday roast on offer as part of our two course meal from the award-winning Seven Tunsin Chedworth. Relax at your trackside table as the sport unfolds in front of you, together with tips from our resident expert!
£75p includes admission, parking and official racecard, together with 2 course lunch, tea & coffee all day and a licensed bar.
Visions of the Cotswolds
We’ve partnered with the Cheltenham Camera Club to bring some fresh perspective to the Cotswold scene through a special exhibition of images of our life and times in Gloucestershire. Through events, landscapes and wildlife, the Cotswolds is brought to life in this one-off exhibition, made special with our accompanying competition. Prizes for the winning images will be presented during the afternoon, so come and see if you agree with the judges!
It’s the RE Resource Lamb National!
Andoversford wouldn’t be the same without some form of nonsense race! This year, it’s our woolly friends’ turn as we stage the Lamb National, courtesy of our friendly sponsor RE Resource Group in Cheltenham. Place your bets on the swiftest set of little legs as our determined team of Herdwicks show their paces in the paddock at 1pm.
