LOCAL SUCCESSES AT STRATFORD

Many congratulations to Hannah Gregory who took the Skinners Ladies Point-to-Point Championship Final in the hands of his owner/trainer/rider.

The Cotswold Vale Farmers qualified gelding was fifth as they came over the mound with half a mile to run but caught the tiring leader Sedgemoor Express at the last and stayed on strongly to provide his supporters with a 25-1 success

Ryan Potter already has a Cheltenham winner to his CV and he was desperately unlucky not to land the White Swan Hotel Hunter Chase on Friday evening with Brave Jaq. The 7-year-old was given an enterprising ride by Bradley Gibbs and looked to have an unbeatable lead on the home turn, but was caught and passed in the final 25 yards by Robin des People.

Brave Jaq is clear at the last but was unable to stand the late run of Robin Des People

Mervyn Jones’s Master Sunrise is a model of consistency and he once again showed this trait by finishing runner up in the prestigious John Corbett Champion Novices Hunter Chase under James King.
