Gloucester Races and Country Fair, in association with Amlin Plus, provides some of the most exciting horse racing of the Point-to-Point season.

Set in Maisemore Park on the banks of the River Severn in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside, the natural grandstand of the ‘Maisemore Bank’ provides a great view of the race course.

FIRST RACE – 1.00 PM – LEDBURY, COTSWOLD, UNITED & MONMOUTHSIRE MEMBERS, SUBSCRIBERS AND FARMERS
PRIZE MONEY
WEIGHTS  – 12 stone
Nationally agreed allowances for 4 & 5 year olds, fillies and mares
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
For horses with a Hunter Certificate registered in the current season with the Ledbury, Cotswold, United and Monmouthshire Hunts.
PENALTIES
For each win on or since 1st October 2020 in a steeplechase or hurdle race under the rules of any recognized Racing Authority (point-to-points excepted), or in a mens, ladies or mixed open point-to-point race 7lb extra
For each win in any other point-to-point race in this period (hunt members and maiden races excepted) 5lb extra. Maximum penalty to be carried is 10 lb

SECOND RACE – 1-35 PM – CONDITIONS (LEVEL 3) FOR VETERAN & NOVICE RIDERS
PRIZE MONEY
– 1st £250/2nd £125/3rd £85
WEIGHTS –
12 stone
Nationally agreed allowances for 4 & 5 year olds, fillies and mares
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
For riders who are either (i)  aged 40 years and over at declaration, or (ii) who up to 1st October 2021 have not won more than five races under the rules of any recognized Racing Authority (including Point-to-Points)

PENALTIES
For each win on or since 1st October 2019 in a steeplechase or hurdle race under the rules of any recognized Racing Authority (Point-to-Points excepted) to carry 7 lb extra, for each win in a mens, ladies or mixed open point-to-point race in this period 5lb extra, and for each win in a Conditions race at the same level or higher to include (confined, club association, service or society point to point races) in this period to carry 3lb extra. Maximum penalty is 10 lb
PENALTIES ARE CUMULATIVE

THIRD RACE – 2-10 PM – FOUR & FIVE YEAR OLD MAIDEN (ABOUT 2 MILES 5 FURLONGS)

For horses which are Maidens aged four and five year olds only, to be run over 2 miles and 5 furlongs.

FOURTH RACE – 2-45 PM PPORA CLUB MEMBERS MIXED OPEN
PRIZE MONEY – 1st £300/2nd – £150/3rd – £75

WEIGHTS – 11 stone 7lb
Nationally agreed allowances for 4 & 5 year olds, fillies and mares
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
For horses which are owned and ridden by current members of the PPORA. Owners and Riders must be an eligible member of the PPORA by declaration of the horse. For information on how to satisfy these conditions, please refer to www.ppora.co.uk>

PENALTIES
Penalties apply for wins on or since 1st October 2021 in an eligible Steeplechase or Hurdle Race under the rules of any recognized Racing Authority (Point-to-Points excepted) or in a Mens, Ladies or Mixed Open Point-to-Point; for one such win 3 lb extra, for two such wins 5 lb, for three or more such wins 7 lb, maximum total penalty to be carried is 7 lb.
ALLOWANCES
Riders who prior to the Thursday before the date of this Point-to-Point Steeple Chase have not ridden more than 5 winners under the Rules of Racing or the Rules of any recognised Racing Authority, Point-to-Point Steeplechases or Arabian Horse races 5lb

FIFTH RACE – 3-20 PM – THE ORIENTAL CLUB OWNER-TRAINER CONDITIONS (LEVEL 3)
2 MILES ABOUT FIVE FURLONGS

PRIZE MONEY – 1st £300/2nd £150/3rd £75
WEIGHTS  – 12 stone
Nationally agreed allowances for 4 & 5 year olds, fillies and mares
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
For horses which on or since 1st October 2019 have not won any race under the Rules of any recognized Racing Authority (Point-to-Points excepted), nor any Mens, Ladies or Mixed Open Point-to-Point Steeplechases. Horses are to be owned and trained within immediate family only, who have no more than 5 horses, of which only one may be trained for someone outside of the immediate family. Horses with keepers who are a licensed trainer or have a permit to train or have a licensed trainer or permit holder within their immediately family are not eligible for this race. Immediate family are only considered to be: Grandparents (Grandmother or Grandfather), Parent (Mother or Father), Child (Son or daughter), sibling (brother or sister), or spouse (husband, wife, civil partner of co-habitant by reason of a personal relationship). These conditions will be based on the keepers named on the first registered Hunter Certificate, unless the horse has been genuinely sold or dispensation sought.
PENALTIES
For each win on or since 1st October 2019 in an Intermediate or Conditions race (to include Confined, Club Association, Service or Society Point-to-Point Races, Maiden and Restricted races excepted) to carry 3 lb extra.
Maximum penalty to be carried is 10 lb.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
For horses which are maiden four and five year olds, which have not run under the Rules of any recognized Racing Authority (Point-to-Point Steeplechase included, Point-to-Point flat races excepted) and which have not run more than two Point-to-Point flat races. For riders who have either (i) ridden more than 5 winners prior to the Thursday before the date of this Point-to-Point steeplechase or (ii) in addition to a Point-to-Point RQC hold a category A of category B permit to ride under rules, to be run over approximately two miles.
