Welcome to Pointing WM

The West Midland Area will stage 14 meetings during the 2020/2021 season. Andoversford, Didmarton, Paxford, Knightwick, Shelfield Park and Woodford run one fixture while Maisemore Park stages three meetings and Chaddesley Corbett hosts five Point-to-Points.

Pointingwm has just been informed of the passing of KEN BROOKE, a keen follower and ardent supporter of West Midland Point-to-Points. Ken was a well known figure at local meetings and enjoyed the cut and thrust with the bookmaking fraternity, where his judgements generally proved correct.

Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING

MONDAY 31ST MAY – ALBRIGHTON & WOODLAND (SOUTH) – CHADDESLEY CORBETT
FIRST RACE 2 PM.

With Covid rules being revisited on 17th May, public access to this meeting will be available but you must register via the appropriate sites, which can be done via clicking on the ticket link above

An updated version of the planner page is available below

In line with the Government guidance for elite sports grounds and until further notice, admission to racecourses will be limited to participants, racehorse owners and essential raceday personnel only (although this can differ depending on local authority guidance). All attendees will need to observe the existing strict health and safety protocols outlined by the BHA and local and national government (see article published on 16th October).

All Point-to-Points will be run under Government/B.H.A. guide lines to ensure that all participants are provided with a safe environment. Both Maisemore Park and Chaddesley Corbett provide excellent viewing from all areas including the car parks.

There was no West Midland Area Championships during the 2019/20 season due to the Corona Virus outbreak and insufficient meetings being completed. We would like to thank our Area Sponsors for their continued support during this difficult period.

The West Midlands Area would like to thank the Harkaway Club for their kind donation towards the purchase of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for all West Midland Area Point-to-Points.
